Participate in a Study

We are looking to recruit youths who are living/lived with cancer, parents, and healthcare providers.  Youths/parents are eligible to participate if:  1. Youths/families of youths who received their cancer diagnosis within the past ten years (i.e., between Jan/2014 and Dec/2023) and were between ages 12 and 18 years of age during this period, and 2. Youths who received part/all of their oncology care at Windsor Regional Hospital, and 3. Youths should have the ability to consent and participate in an interview independently 4. Speak English 5. Youths who received their cancer diagnosed in the last three months will not be eligible to participate.  Healthcare providers are eligible to participate: 1. if providers e.g., oncologists, registered nurse, therapists etc. work in Windsor Essex Region and provide care for youths with cancer and their families

In brief, this study will be utilizing a brief 5-minute Qualtrics survey and subsequent 30-60-minute interview on Microsoft Teams to explore the beliefs, knowledge, and prenatal physical activity prescription practices of Canadian general practitioners, nurse practitioners, midwives, and physician's assistants. The purpose of this study is to explore this area of inquiry to expand upon the current literature regarding provider beliefs, knowledge and practices from a Canadian perspective and lay the groundwork for future studies.

Were you involved in the treatment of a migrant worker in Windsor-Essex? We want to hear from you! We are asking you to complete a 20-minute online survey to help us understand your experience treating migrant workers locally. The survey asks you to reflect on barriers you faced when treating this population and your feelings about the situation. Participants will be entered into a draw for 5 prizes of $20 Amazon gift cards.

Participants will perform a series of tasks in two different gyms at the University of Windsor's Toldo Lancer Centre. One gym will have a traditional design, the other will be adapted to reflect universal accessibility. While participants complete the tasks, they will be asked to say their thoughts aloud, audio and video recording will be used to document thoughts and observe body language. Questionnaires will be administered after each task to collect perceptions of usability and user experience. After performing all tasks, participants will be invited to a short interview (about 30 minutes) to further discuss their experiences in the gyms.

If you volunteer to participate in this study, you will be asked to complete an online questionnaire. This questionnaire has three parts. Part I contains questions about personal information such as race and gender to determine patient demographics. Questions regarding personal information are optional and it does not impact your access to the service in finding potential clinical trials. Part II contains questions regarding cancer and treatment to search for appropriate clinical trials for the patient. Lastly, part III is a follow-up questionnaire to obtain your feedback regarding the project.

If you are at least 15 years old and live in Canada, you can participate! You will be invited to fill online surveys on a regular basis. You can also choose to download the COHESION research app that collects information on your mobility, physical activity levels and social contacts.
