Patients of reproductive age can have their fertility impacted by cancer treatments. Thus, fertility preservation education is an important aspect of the cancer diagnosis process. We expect that majority of cancer patients at Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH) are not being properly educated on fertility preservation. We expect that various barriers exist for cancer patients, impacting their decision to receive fertility preservation referrals.

A retrospective chart review and follow-up survey will be conducted for the Windsor Regional Hospital cancer patients of reproductive age. The survey will include questions regarding their experience with the education process at WRH and questions regarding barriers they experienced during the education and fertility preservation referral process. The chart review and survey data will be analyzed to assess the quality of fertility preservation education being provided to cancer patients at Windsor Regional Hospital.
